History
Wicker furniture has a long tradition in fine homes across America
and beyond. The classic styles have been a staple on porches, sunrooms
and patios for generations. Michigan-based Lloyd Flanders has manufactured
hand-woven wicker furniture since 1906. In 1917, Marshall B. Lloyd
patented a process for making furniture woven from a twisted fiber
made of craft paper. The Lloyd Loom process allowed mass production
of many designs, ranging from large settees to small baskets. Lloyd
Loom products have been used at The White House, Buckingham Palace,
the US Open, and other notable places around the world. |

Lloyd
Loom Today
Lloyd Loom is a process, which involves wrapping paper around
a metal wire. Many pieces of loom are then woven together,
making an extremely strong and long-lasting, aesthetic material.
The loom can then be woven, and bent around virtually any
type of furniture frame. The result is a durable "all
weather" product that brings style and comfort to any
setting.
Vinyl
Weave
Another type of material used for crafting specific collections
of Lloyd Flanders is vinyl. Lloyd Flanders hand-woven vinyl
products use small strands, emulating its original loom strands.
Vinyl wicker collections are hand woven and therefore, take
more time to manufacture. Vinyl collections are also "all
weather", yet are considered to be a bit more durable
in harsh climates.

Frame
Construction
Lloyd Flanders furniture frames are constructed from extruded aluminum.
Each joint is welded and ground to perfection. These frames are strong
and supportive and cannot rust due to the molecular structure inherent
to this element. The combined factors ensure years of structural integrity.

Cushions
Each Lloyd Flanders collection has a corresponding cushion
set. Customers can choose to either purchase in-stock cushions
or can opt to special order cushions in the fabric of their
choice from either Lloyd Flanders or Ralph Lauren. Lloyd Flanders
cushions are typically made from a solution-dyed acrylic material
(Sunbrella) that is specifically engineered for outdoor use.
Customers can choose either regular or premium filling. These
cushions are not only plush and comfortable, but also resist
fading and are easy to clean.
Warranty
A 3-year limited warranty for residential installation covers
all defects in workmanship or materials of the Lloyd Flanders
product. A separate one year warranty applies to fabrics/cushions
and granite/natural slate travertine tables.
